the number of colors that one person sees in a day could only be counted by God. hundreds. thousands. millions. millions of billions. even in one glance, numerous colors make up a picture in the brain. and yet, while this may sound so mind boggling, how are you just now realizing this? its been sixteen years and some two hundred days since i've been born, and i'm just now seeing this.
the colors fascinate me. the blues, the hues of blue. the shades of those hues. the brightness of those hues. it all combines so easily, yet not until one attempts to replicate the amazing collage of color does one realize how intricate it all truly is.
i just bought highlighters. thirteen of them, to be exact. and now i have a problem. a small problem for most, but for me, a big problem. which color to use? i want them all. all at once. all over. each one holds its own, while reflecting the color of the highlighter next to it.
such is the way my brain sees.

messed up swiss army.
"the swiss have an interesting army. five hundred years without a war. pretty lucky for them. ever see that little swiss army knife they have to fight with? not much of a weapon there. corkscrews. bottle openers. 'come on, buddy, let's go. you get past me,the guy in back of me, he's got a spoon. Back off. I've got the toe clippers right here.'" --Jerry Seinfeld
sadly i feel as if all i had to fight school with, is a swiss army knife. oh hey test, i've got a spoon! i'm so gonna take you down... maybe i'll use the toe clippers and cut you to pieces.. really dangerous stuff right?

the rhodora
on being asked, whence is the flower?
in may, when sea-winds pierced our solitudes,
i found the fresh rhodora in the woods,
spreading its leafless blooms in a damp nook,
to please the desert and the sluggish brook.
the purple petals, fallen in the pool,
made the black water with their beauty gay;
here might the red-bird come his plumes to cool,
and court the flower that cheapens his array.
rhodora! if the sages ask thee why
this charm is wasted on the earth and sky,
tell them, dear, that if eyes were made for seeing,
then Beauty is its own excuse for being:
why thou wert there, o rival of the rose!
i never thought to ask, I never knew:
but, in my simple ignorance, suppose
the self-same Power that brought me there brought you.

tokyo time
**notice: all times posted on this blog are in tokyo time, as i find it easier to live by one universal time. my boyfriend picked tokyo, thus... so you won't be confused as i just was, its earlier than what it says. ciao!**
trust and beauty.
trust is a funny thing. it can take years to build, yet can be broken in an instant. when built up, it has irresistible strength. when broken into tiny shards and fragments, it can be detrimental. built up, it carries great potential for a flowering relationship, the glue that holds together the pieces in rough times. broken into shards, it has the potential to draw blood.
beauty too, is a funny thing. so subjective to the individual eye, so criticized in the bearer, so plentiful in the eyes of God. for many it hides in the shadow of the window. behind the thick aquarium glass lay the seeds of beauty, in the shadow of the glass. on view for others to see, hidden from itself. when the glass of trust breaks, the shards find their way into the hearts of the seeds, the blood of beauty free flowing.

hidden message for a lover.

pubilius.
many people have a favorite poet or author, whether it be longfellow, henry james, mark twain, or edgar allen poe. so as not to be left out, i do too.
name: publilius syrus
who: minor latin poet
when: 1st century b.c. - famous for short sayings, mimes, maxims.
why do i force this poet upon you? to widen your horizons. because he's amazing. because what he says it totally true. wait, you may ask, you're forcing him on me? yes. keep reading.
amor animi arbitrio sumitur, non ponitur.
(love starts but is not dropped at will)
see? totally true.
alienum est omne quicquid optando evenit.
(what comes by wishing is never truly ours)
this guy is genius!
amare et sapere vix deo conceditur.
(wisdom with love is scarcely granted to a god)
told you.
ratione non vi vincenda adulescentia est.
(youth must be mastered not by force but by reason)
publilius is genius. <3.

the silence.
i have come to find that everything is louder in silence. while sitting in a quiet, long, corridor of an office building, try opening a soda can. no matter how quietly you attempt to open it, the final 'pop' will be louder than it has ever been in your previous soda can opening experiences. music that is so silent that it hardly carries noise can be heard as if it were a booming orchestra when played in silence. the voice of God too, is louder in silence, when distractions are banned, and the mind is allowed to quit processing the interrupting sights and sounds. in silence, ones thoughts can be screaming. at any other time, it isn't hard to turn on music, look around, cause diversions to the thoughts being produced. but in silence this is not possible, the thoughts are there, rapid fire mode.
